James Tobias was directly approached by Z Hotels, a boutique collection of hospitality venues across London and further afield. Z Hotels asked James Tobias if we could design and install stools to replace the 106 existing stools at their Victoria site which were on the verge of becoming worn.
While it was important that the stool was to budget, functional, and robust it was also particularly key that the design fitted in with the existing brand remit.
Therefore, James Tobias proposed a stool with a dark metal Z frame. This would create a visually striking contrast between the fabric and the frame and encourage a longer lasting lifespan.
Nevertheless, we still had to overcome several challenges as we not only needed to create this stool to budget but had to make sure the fabrication was finished to an excellent standard. In order to get the powder coating process to the high level of finish, we executed a hidden weld, three-part sanding and finishing process.
Having previously designed unique items for Z Hotels, we were pleased to be working with them again and delighted with their continued positive feedback as below;
“Thank you for the outstanding service provided. The stools look amazing and they are so comfortable. Thank you for your help and suggestions, really appreciate it”.
