What’s your job title? And how long have you worked for James Tobias?
I’m a Project Specification Manager and I’ve been at James Tobias for just over five years.
What does that actually mean? What does your role entail?
I support Architects and Interior Designers with technical and information and design.
What does a normal day look like for you?
At the moment I’ve been spending a lot of time in the office, updating our RIBA product specifications. I’ve also been working on CPD presentations which will be up and running over the next few weeks
How does your role work with the wider James Tobias team?
I work in the very early stages on a project to negate any potential design issues that might occur, to ensure the best possible outcome for our customer and the end user.
How do you make sure that you live up to the James Tobias values in your own work?
Customer service and building relationships are key to my job. In depth product knowledge and an understanding of the industry is also really important.
If you had the chance to tell your clients one thing about James Tobias what would it be and why?
It would be that we keep everything in-house, all of our products are designed, manufactured, and installed from our Bridgwater factory. This helps us maintain our high standards, product quality and reduce lead times.
If you were to have one James Tobias product in your own home, what would it be and why?
I would have to go for Quebix, it’s so versatile and looks great! I’m running out of space with all of my surfing and cycling gear and that would help make everything nice tidy.
Finally, when you’re not creating the UK’s leading storage solutions, what keeps you busy?
In my spare time I probably cycle too much, I race regionally and nationally for my local Somerset Club. When I get some down time, I head to Croyde, to go surfing, and relax on the beach.
