
What’s your job title? And how long have you worked for James Tobias?
I am Production Manager here at James Tobias and I’ve worked for the company now for 18 years.
What does that actually mean? What does your role entail?
My role entails me running all the day to day issues on the shop floor. I’m in charge of supervisors and team leaders, ensuring everything that’s scheduled is adhered to.
What does a normal day look like for you?
A normal day would be me attending the morning production meeting, proactively finding out what’s required for the day then liaising closely with Design and other departments to ensure all projects are completed.
How does your role work with the wider James Tobias team?
I am the key link between operations and production, I report to my Production Director Jon Dibble, who communicates what’s required.
How do you make sure that you live up to the James Tobias values in your own work?
I’ve been with James Tobias since leaving school, so have a lot of experience in what’s required as far as Quality is concerned, and one of my roles is to ensure this.
If you had the chance to tell your clients one thing about James Tobias what would it be and why?
If I had the chance to tell my Clients anything it would be James Tobias is a good friendly place to work for with a lot of committed employees.
If you were to have one James Tobias product in your own home, what would it be and why?
The one product I would have in my home would be wardrobes, as the product we make is just right for this.
Finally, when you’re not creating the UK’s leading storage solutions, what keeps you busy?
I have a young family who take up a lot of my time outside work but my main hobbies are fishing and football.
