The Forest Stewardship Council is an international, not-for-profit and multi-stakeholder organisation. Set up in 1993, the FSC promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests. For more than 20 years, the FSC has been working hard to ensure that the world’s forests are managed in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable manner.
98% of our products incorporate FSC certified materials and we are committed to raising that figure even further through a commitment to continuous research and innovative product development.
So, even if some people believe that good design comes at a cost, we’re ensuring that it doesn’t cost the earth.
Our standard products will now be supplied with an FSC claim, meaning that you can be assured that they are made with wood that comes from FSC certified forests and other controlled sources. Controlled Wood is material that can be mixed with certified material during manufacturing FSC Mix products. This has enabled manufacturers to manage low and fluctuating supplies of FSC certified forest products, while creating demand for FSC certified wood. Controlled Wood is FSC-approved but it does not come from FSC certified forests.
