For James Tobias, being recognised as an environmentally friendly business has always been a core business goal. On 26 March, 2021, that goal became reality when we won the Environmental Achievement award at the 2021 Somerset Business Awards.
Despite missing out on the Somerset Manufacturer & Producer award, we were delighted to receive the Environmental Achievement award. James Tobias Managing Director, Phil Jones, commented; “To be nominated this year was a real morale boost for everyone at James Tobias. We continued to manufacture and install throughout the pandemic and I’m very proud of everyone’s commitment and dedication in such challenging times. To be chosen as a winner is such a great way to pay homage to their hard work.”
Head of Innovation & Marketing, Ryan Williams, is especially passionate about the Environmental Achievement award. “We’ve worked hard to make our environmental credentials a key focus of James Tobias and winning this award recognises that commitment. We recently developed a new polymer board manufactured entirely from previously unrecyclable low grade plastic waste. This industry changing material is now a core part of our manufacturing processes.”
Here’s why we’re an environmentally friendly business
James Tobias are FSC certified, our timber is sourced from the UK and our product frames and carcasses are made from recyclable aluminium. Our newly RPC (Recycled Plastic Composite) eco-material is being used in our StorageWall system and all manufacturing is done in our Somerset-based factory.
